PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - Sam Goldenring from Florham Park, NJ fired 200 (64-66-70) to win the inaugural Palm Beach County Open presented by Brightview. He earned $7,000 from the $29,834 purse for his 2nd professional win. His first came last week in a 1-day event at Fountains CC.
Jimmy Hervol faught hard to catch Goldenring birding the final three holes for a final round 67 but could only come within two. The five shot deficit starting the final round proved to be too much to overcome. Hervol earned $3,000 plus $450 from the bonus pool for a total of $3,450.
This event showcased three of the best Palm Beach County golf courses this week. Round one was held at Park Ridge GC, round two at Okeeheelee GC and round three at Osprey Point GC.

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - Sam Goldenring from Florham Park, NJ seperated himself from the field with an impressive 66 on day two in difficult conditions at Okeeheelee Golf Course. The combinations of gusty winds and firm greens led to a scoring average of 74.90 compared to 69.84 at Park Ridge in round one.
Goldenring will enter the final round 5 shots clear of Jimmy Hervol and 8 ahead of first round leader Mike Miller who struggled to a 2nd round 75.
26 players made the 36 hole cut which fell at 1-under par 143. Everyone that made the cut will earn a check. Last place after the cut is $300.
PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - Mike Miller from Brewster, NY rolled in a 15 foot birdie putt on the last to lead the field after day one of the 2022 Palm Beach County Open presented by Brightview. He did not make a bogey on the unique six par 3, six par 4, six par 5 layout of Park Ridge GC. Day 2 is at Okeeheelee GC then the field will be cut to 40% and ties. The final round will take place at Osprey Point GC on Wedensday.
A trio of players are right on Miller's heels just one shot back after 64's.
