WELLINGTON, Fla. - Piri Borja from Coral Springs, FL fires a final round 67 to come from behind and win by two. After an opening round of 71 Borja was tied for 4th and 3 shots off the lead. Unlike day 1 where he made 3 bogies and a double, he did not make a bogey in the final round and birdied 6,7,10,12 and 17 to shoot the low round of the day and jump to the top of the leaderboard. He earned $1,800 from the $9,550 purse plus $420 in the bonus pool and a $95 skin for a total of $2,315.
Olin Browne Jr., Carter Page and Brett Stegmaier tied for second at 140 and earned $1,200 each. Browne and Stegmaier added $300 each from the bonus pool and Browne added a $126.67 skin from day one.
Qualifying School Contest #4 starts Wednesday August 31 at Banyan Creek at Martin Downs. There is an optional $200 contest where the low professional will earn a $5k bonus to put towards the Q-School entry fee of their choice.
