Michael Sweeney eagles the 1st playoff hole to outlast amateur Matthew Mullen

Both men tied at 5-under par 66 in regulation at Abacoa Golf Club

JUPITER, Fla. - Michael Sweeney from Enfield, CT eagled the par-5 first playoff hole to earn his 17th win on the MLGT. Sweeney and talented 21 year old amateur Matthew Mullen tied at 5-under par 66 in regulation. On the first playoff hole Mullen hit a great 3-wood on the par-5 to 20 feet for eagle. Right after Sweeney hit 5 iron from 227 yards to 3 feet. Mullen's eagle bid just barely missed on the low side. Sweeney tapped in for eagle for the win.

Sweeney earned $1,100 from the $5,770 purse plus $223 from the bonus pool for a total of $1,323. Mullen earned $700 and will continue to work hard to earn that first win.

Next on the schedule is a 36 hole event on the West course at Indian Spring CC on Wed-Thurs.
