ROYAL PALM BEACH, Fla. – Matt Springer of Stuart, who has played on the Minor League Golf Tour for two and a half years, scored his first victory Wednesday with an eight under par 64 at the Links at Madison Green.
Springer eagled the par-5 11th and 14th holes to go with birdies at Nos. 2, 9, 15, 16 and 18 and a bogey at the par-4 10th hole. He earned $750 from the $3,625 purse. Springer’s first MLGT start was on June 4, 2008, at Hammock Creek in Palm City.
Justin Goodhue of Glastonbury, CT earned $525.00 for his solo 2nd place finish at 5-under par 67. All time Fuzion MLGT leading money winner Jimmy Lytle was third with a 68 followed by 2010 leading money winner Steve LeBrun in fourth with a 3-under par 69. There were 29 starters at Madison Green.
There was $150 in the skins pot with 6 skins out worth $25 each.
