PLANTATION, Fla. - JD Hughes from Carlisle, PA added 66 to his opening round 69 for a 36 hole total of 7-under par 135 to win by one on the East course at Jacaranda Golf Club.
Dawson Jones started the day four back and fired a bogey free 6-under par 65 and tried his best to catch Hughes. JD birdied the drivable par-4 16th to go one in front and never looked back.
Hughes earned $1,700 from the $7,670 purse plus $428 from the bonus pool and a $60 skin for a total of $2,188 for his first win in just his 2nd start on the MLGT. Jones earned $1,300 for the 2nd place finish.
In a second day shootout Tuesday among players who shot 71 or higher Wednesday, Matt Holuta won $177 with a final round score of 69.

Michael Sweeney and Lukas Clark are right on their heels one back followed by four players that will enter the final round two back.
