WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Dawson Jones from Howell, NJ fired 130 (66-64) to earn his 5th win on the MLGT. Jones started the final round one behind but grabbed the lead after an opening nine of 32. He then added birdies at 10,12,15 and 16 to win by four shots over Brett Stegmaier.
Jones earned $2,200 from the $12,140 purse. Stegmaier earned $1,920 which included bonus pool money. Raoul Menard and Ethan Marcus tied for 3rd at 135.
In a second day shootout Wednesday among players who shot 70 or higher Tuesday, Lucas Sabie won $150 with a final round score of 70.
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Carson Klawonn from West Palm Beach, FL fires a bogey free 5-under par 65 on the Eagle/Heron course at Okeeheelee GC to lead the way after day one. Carson was competing in US Open final qualifying yesterday at Emerald Dunes in West Palm Beach and because of a lengthy weather delay had to go back this morning to finish his final round. He could of easily withdrawn from this event but decided to play and is making the most of it. Unfortunately he didn't qualify for the US Open but he'll look to get some revenge with a win tomorrow.
Alexander Phibbs, Raoul Menard, Ethan Marcus, Brett Stegmaier and Dawson Jones are just one shot behind after open rounds of 66.
