Web.com q-school winner Adam Svensson fires an 8-under par 63

PALM CITY, Fla. – Adam Svensson of Surrey, British Columbia, continued his strong play in South Florida by winning a Minor League Golf Tour tournament Thursday at Martin Downs Golf Club.

Svensson posted an eight under par 63 with birdies at Nos. 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, 11, 12 and 17. It was his second MLGT start, his first win. He received $1,000 from the $6,475 purse. He shot 68 Tuesday at Fountains CC-North in Lake Worth to tie for sixth.

Last month at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Svensson, 22, was the medalist in the national qualifying finals for the Web.com Tour this year, the next step in qualifying for the PGA Tour.

There were 48 starters Thursday. Next on the MLGT schedule: Monday-Tuesday, PGA National Estates Course; Wednesday, Abacoa GC; and Thursday, Fountains CC.
