ATLANTIS, Fla. – Chase Koepka from West Palm Beach, FL, took advantage of his home course when he turned his first start as a professional golfer into a victory Thursday when he won on the Minor League Golf Tour at Atlantis Country Club.

Koepka eagled the par-5 first and ninth holes enroute to an eight under par 64 to win by three strokes. He also made five birdies and a bogey and earned $450 from the $1,300 purse. He collected an additional $150 from an optional bonus pool and $58.20 in a skins game for a total $658.20. The base entry fee was $160.

In December, Chase and his dad, Bob, won the 61st annual Leon “Pop” Sikes Memorial Father-Son Championship at Atlantis CC and in April, Chase, a former University of South Florida player, was listed No. 19 in Golfweek men’s rankings. Older brother Brooks won the 2015 Phoneix Open on the PGA Tour and currently sits in the 10th position on the 2016 Ryder Cup Team standings which is just outside the top 8 that qualify automatically for the team. Brooks has won 4 times on the MLGT including the 2012 Minor League Golf Tour Championship.

Chase and Brooks Koepka are the 2nd group of siblings to win on the MLGT joing the Thompson family. Nicholas, Curtis, and Lexi Thompson have combined for 4 MLGT victories. Both Curtis and Lexi got their first win as a professional on the Minor League Golf Tour. Lexi beat a field of 77 guys at TPC Eagle Trace in February 2011. Curtis also picked up his first professional victory at TPC Eagle Trace in October of 2014.

The 55th tournament of the year drew 12 starters. Two more 18-hole events are scheduled next week, Tuesday on the Estate course at PGA National and Thursday at Winston Trails GC.
