PALM CITY, Fla. - Chase Koepka of West Palm Beach, FL, wedged to within a couple of inches on the second playoff hole Thursday as he teamed with Matt Ceravolo of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, to win the Summer Team Championship on the Minor League Golf Tour.
After three teams tied at 12 under par 59 on the Osprey Creek course at Martin Downs Country Club, Josh Hart, Jupiter, FL, and Case Cochran, Paducah, KY, were eliminated with par-4 on the first extra hole. At the par-4 second, Koepka hit an 80-yard sand wedge to two inches then watched as Greg O'Mahony of Tequesta, FL, missed a 10 footer to tie.
Koepka and Ceravolo each collected $400 from the $1,600 purse, another $175 from an optional bonus pool and $35 in skins for a total of $610 apiece. It was the fourth MLGT win for Koepka, the second for Ceravolo.

In regulation, O'Mahony and Eric Cole of Orlando, FL, made nine straight birdies starting at the third hole; Koepka and Ceravolo eagled the par-5 eighth hole to go with five birdies on each nine; and Hart and Cochran birdied the last four holes and seven of nine on the back.
The summer team, the MLGT’s 65th tournament of the year, drew eight twosomes. The front nine was a scramble, the back nine a four-ball stroke play event, and the playoff also four-ball stroke play.
