STUART, Fla. – Rasmey Kong of North Haven, CT, birdied the second extra hole Thursday for his third victory on the Minor League Golf Tour. Kong outlasted Piri Borja of Coral Springs, FL after they tied at 14 under par 130 at The Florida Club.

After they halved the driveable, par-4 10th hole with birdies, Kong knocked it on the back fringe in two at the par-5 11th, putted down to three feet and made the birdie putt. Borja was just short in two, putted to seven feet but missed moments before Kong sank his winner.

In regulation, Kong scored 66-64 and received $1,600 from the $8,500 purse. On the front nine Wednesday, he had seven birdies and a bogey. He eagled the par-5 eighth hole Thursday. His first MLGT victory, in November, 2017, was as an amateur.

Borja had the low score of the week, a nine under 63 Thursday, with five birdies on each side and a bogey at the 18th. As the runner-up among 31 starters, Borja collected $1,300.

Kong and Borja received an additional $382 apiece from an optional bonus pool.

Tueday's winner, Gavin Hall, of Pittsford, NY, was third at 132 on a pair of 66's. He earned $1,000.

Davey Jude won $150 in a 2nd day shootout with a score of 68.

Monday Qualifying School Contest #7 is just 5 days away. It starts on Tuesday 8/27 at Hammock Creek Golf Club. It continues Wednesday 8/28 at Banyan Creek Golf Club and ends Thursday 8/29 at The CC of Coral Springs. All three days are seperate one day events but the player with the lowest cumulative score will win a $1,000 bonus to play in a Monday Qualifier on either the PGA Tour or Korn Ferry Tour and try to play their way up to the next level.

STUART, Fla. - Jacob Eggers from Boone, NC overcame a bogey at the par-3 6th hole with 8 birdies to lead the field by one. He only had one five on the card on a day made for scoring.

Rasmey Kong, Marc Mazza and yesterday's winner Gavin Hall all sit in a tie for 2nd place at 66. Conditions were good for scoring with the winds down and soft greens.
