MIAMI, Fla. – Michael Buttacavoli of Miami Beach, FL birdied the fourth extra hole Tuesday to claim his fifth victory on the Minor League Golf Tour. Buttacavoli outlasted Jimmy Hervol of Hopkinton, MA, after they tied at six under par 136 at Melreese Country Club.
Buttacavoli scored 67-69 in regulation on nine birdies and three bogeys. He earned $2,500 from the $18,490 purse plus $450 from an optional bonus pool for a total of $2,950.
Hervol missed out on his first MLGT victory despite carding 70-66 with an eagle, seven birdies, a bogey and a double bogey. He received $2,550 with $1,700 from the main purse, $450 from the bonus pool and $400 in the skins game. Hervol played the four playoff holes 2-under par and it still wasn't enough to beat Buttacavoli.
Third at 138 was Domenico Geminiani of Lugo, Italy, who did not make a bogey the final round in scoring 71-66—138.
Eric Dietrich of Cheshire, CT, won $232 in an optional second day shootout with a score of 68. It was open to players that were outside the money (74 and higher) after round one.

Seven more players broke par and are tied for 4th at 1-under par 70.
