JUPITER, Fla. - Brant Peaper from Tequesta, FL made history Tuesday winning the largest playoff in MLGT history. Eight players tied at 3-under par 68 at Abacoa Golf Club.
Peaper, Josh Hart, Ben Silverman, Bo Hoag, Marc Mazza, Harrison Rhoades, Austin Lemieux (a) and Andrew Sciarretta needed extra holes to determine a winner.
After all eight players parred the first extra hole, Hart, Rhoades, Silverman and Mazza were eliminated with bogies on #2. On the third playoff hole Hoag and Lemieux were knocked out with bogies leaving Peaper and Sciarretta. They both parred #4 then Peaper rolled in a 15 foot birdie putt on #5 for the win.
Peaper won $1,390 including bonus pool and skin money. The eliminated players earned $450 plus bonus pool and skin money for some.
The Joey D Golf Match Play Championship begins Monday with the qualifying/seeding round to determine the 32 players that will face off in match play beginning Tuesday morning.
