PALM CITY, Fla. - Sunny Kim from Queens, NY did not make a bogey en route to an 8-under par 64 on the River Ridge course at Harbour Ridge CC. He made birdies on 2,3,5,9,10,14,16 and 18 to win by two over Olin Browne Jr.
This was Kim's 88th win on the MLGT since turning pro in 2007. Sunny stepped away from golf late in 2022 after Q-School and entered the business world. While he still works full time he hasn't lost the desire to compete. He earned $1,050 from the $5,040 purse plus $183 from the bonus pool and $150 in skins for a total of $1,383.
Olin Browne Jr. was 2nd at 66 followed by Nicklas Staub, Cole Castro and Filip Raza tied for 3rd at 67.
Next on the schedule is the final Qualifying School Contest of the year at Astor Creek Golf & CC Wednesday and Thursday September 3-4. The players will look to earn the $5k bonus to put towards their Q-School entry fee.
