LAKE WORTH, Fla. – Tim Turpen of West Palm Beach birdied the last two holes Thursday to pull out a one-stroke victory on the Golfslinger.com Tour with a five under par 66 on the West course at Fountains Country Club.
Turpen made seven birdies and two bogeys for his 18th Golfslinger title, earning $1,000 from the $7,888 purse. Tied for second at 68 in the 64-player field, the largest of the season, were Frank Dully of Salem, Mass., and Chris Damiano of Jupiter. Each received $650.
Jimmy Lytle picked up $550 for his solo fourth finish at 3-under par 68, followed by Devin Kay from Boca Raton and Chris Scialo of New York at 69.
The Golfslinger schedule next week includes an 18-hole tournament Monday at the TPC at Eagle Trace in Coral Springs and a 36-hole event Wednesday and Thursday at the Champions Club in Stuart.
There was $320 in the skins pot with 2 skins out worth $160 each.
