PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Michael Sweeney from Enfield, CT fires 131 (65-66) on The Champ to win 2025 Major III presented by Arise and the $8k first place check.
Willie Mack III fired a bogey free final round 65 which included birdies at 16 and 17 but it was enough to catch Sweeney. Michael eagled the par-5 10th to open up a three shot lead. He bounced back from a bogey on 13 with birdies on 14 and 18 to extend his lead to two. This was Sweeney's 21st win on the MLGT and he carries a lot of momentum into Q-School in the coming weeks.
In a second day shootout Tuesday among players who shot 74 or higher Monday, Ian Thimble and Nicklas Staub won $212 each with final round scores of 67.

After turning in 1-under par he reeled off four birdies in a row from holes 12-15 then added a closing birdie to extend his first round lead to two. Blake Dyer will enter the final round closest to Sweeney after an opening round of 67 that included a great up and down birdie from 40 yards from the bunker on the par-5 18th.
Cole Castro, Brett Stegmaier, Brett Schell, Griffin Steutel and Willie Mack III are just three back after opening rounds of 68.
