PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Mickey DeMorat from Merritt Island, FL torched the rain soaked Champ course at PGA National and earned his second win in the last two weeks. The event was shortened to 27 holes after seven hours of weather delays in the two days. After an opening round 6-under par 65 DeMorat started the final round tied for the lead with Robbie Higgins and Jianyou Piao. Because of the lenghty weather delay the final round was shortened to 9 holes making it a 27 hole event. Mickey made four birdies and an eagle in the final round to run away from the field. He earned $3,664 for his 8th win on the MLGT. He also earned the $5k bonus to pay for his Q-School entry fee this fall.

Last week DeMorat won the Saint Lucie County Open at 24-under par. In his last two MLGT event his is a combined 36-under par and has won $15,164.

Robbie Higgins was 2nd alone at 9-under par followed by Stephen Franken in 3rd at 8-under par.

26 of the 66 players chose to enter Qualifying School Contest #6 presented by Britto and Herman Injury Lawyers. DeMorat was 12-under par through 27 holes and won weather shortened event by three over Stephen Franken.
