VERO BEACH, Fla. - Not even Mother Nature could slow Fletcher Wunderlich down. He went wire to wire on the Dunes course at Sandridge GC to earn his first win on the MLGT. He opened with 66 on day one and took a two shot lead into the final round. He picked up right where he left off birdying the first hole on Tuesday. He would add birdies at 3,4,7,8 and 10 and after a par on 11 he was 12-under par and still in control with a two shot lead when the storms rolled in. He did not make a bogey the entire event.
After a two hour delay the course became unplayable due to flooding and play was halted for the day. Per MLGT policy all holes the entire field played count so with the final group through 11 holes the event was shortened to 29 holes. Fletcher was two shots clear of Michael Sweeney and earned $2,720 for his first MLGT win.
In a second day shootout Tuesday among players who shot 74 or higher Monday, Cristian Rabinowitz won $200 with a final round score of 60 (par 64). The second day shootout was shortened to 16 holes because that's how many all players in the shootout completed.
