Carson Klawonn and John Houchin match 65's to lead the way after day one at PGA National
Klawonn leads the Qualifying School Contest and will look to earn the $5k bonus

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Carson Klawonn from West Palm Beach, FL and John Houchin from Merritt Island, FL matched 6-under par 65's on day one on the Champ to lead the way. Jack Simon is just one back and will round out the final pairing in Wednesday's final round.

34 of the 74 players chose to enter Qualifying School Contest #3 presented by Britto & Herman Injury Lawyers. Carson Klawonn leads the way and will look to earn the $5k bonus to use for his Q-School entry fee. Second place will earn $1,800. Here is how we stand with 18 holes to go.

Q-School Contest #3

There were three skins out on day one worth $240 each. Click on any of the $ symbols under the skins/total tab to view the skins results.

There is an optional $50 2nd day shootout for players at 73 and higher. 100% of the entry goes into the purse and the top 33% and ties will earn a check. If you would like to participate you must sign up and pay online before the first tee time on Wednesday (10am).

40% of the field earns a check. CHAMP Course.

There is an optional $200 Qualifying School Contest where the winner will receive a $5k bonus to put towards the Q-School entry of their choice. If you'd like to participate in the contest register and pay for Qualifying School Contest #3 on the events page. 74 Player Purse
